Arama is an aged care facility in Nairobi, Kenya. Situated in the heart of Westlands, the Arama Centre has been tastefully decorated and has a cosy, comfortable vibe. The main buildings are nestled in a beautiful lush garden dotted with trees and gorgeous flowers with several sitting areas to enjoy the fresh air and calm.

Yes, all amenities are accessible via wheelchair. The Centre is spread over one floor and there is a ramp at the entrance. Our garden is also wheelchair accessible.

Accommodation in a private room and all hospitality services (cleaning, laundry and maintenance).

We provide all meals and snacks, activities and patient attendants round the clock. We also have regular doctor’s visits and have signed up to ambulance services in case of an emergency.

The level of care and assistance provided is catered to the individual’s circumstances and preferences.

Yes, we cater to individual preferences and restrictions including religious ones. 

Yes, loved ones are welcome to drop off food items.

Yes they can. Visits are booked in advance and all Covid protocols are to be observed. 

Yes, we do. We currently have residents living with different types of dementia. In addition, our activities can also be adjusted to accommodate those living with dementia at the various stages.

Our team wear masks and regularly sanitise and wash hands. In addition, we maintain distance when and where possible. Oxygen saturation levels and temperatures are measured at the start of each shift. 

We have made arrangements for our residents and team to be vaccinated. We carefully monitor our residents and team for any symptoms and if any case for concern, we arrange for testing and isolation.

To minimise exposure we have, at present, restricted the day activities for non-residents. Visits to residents have been restricted too. All visitors are required to wear masks. On entry into the premises temperatures are checked, and visitors are given sanitiser.

We alert next of kin in case of emergencies and agree on the way forward. Our team is able to undertake basic first aid. If necessary, a doctor from our panel is called upon and any tests required are arranged. Alternatively, arrangements are made for ambulance services.

We can make arrangements via Whatsapp, Zoom or Skype. We have a dedicated phone line at Arama and a laptop available too.

Yes, most certainly! We believe in celebrating every occasion in style to make it as memorable as possible. Our team works with families and friends to plan birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions.

The cost of services depends on the type of services required. For residential services the cost depends on the level of care required and the type of room available. We undertake a medical assessment to assess the needs.
